LOS ANGELES - Michele Maduz and Rona Miller picked up wins in singles action and Jennifer Avila and Isis Jackson teamed up in a victorious doubles effort in the Golden Eagles' 6-3 loss to UC San Diego on Saturday in La Jolla.  The Golden Eagle fall to 0-2 overall, and 0-1 in the CCAA.  The match marked the opening of the CCAA portion of the 2007 schedule for both squads.

With the Golden Eagles going up against the defending CCAA Champions, Maduz defeated Ina Dan in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1.  Miller forced a decisive third set in her tussle with Tessa Tran, 4-6, 6-2, 10-7.  Avila and Jackson took their doubles set to the limit, downing the Tritons' duo of Legakis and Desai, 9-7.  Also in singles action, Krishana De Silva fell to Marsha Malinow in what was a very close three-set match.
